Little Brothers – Friends of the Elderly, Chicago Chapter - serving Chicago’s seniors for 52 years.
Little Brothers – Friends of the Elderly, Chicago Chapter reaches out with friendship to elders who are growing old alone without the support of family or friends. We focus on elders who have fewer than two thirty-minute meaningful social contacts each month.

Our programs are designed with friendship in mind and allow elders to get out of their homes to have fun, meet people and form relationships.  We visit with elders who are homebound, enjoying activities like watching movies or listening to music.

Making the Holidays Brighter for Chicago Elders
We are busy planning holiday events--three Christmas Day parties, delivering holiday meals to homebound elders, and visiting our elders in nursing homes.

We are also providing holiday gifts for more than 1,000 elders in our program this year.

Some elders ask for items that they cannot afford to purchase for themselves, like a warm winter coat.  Others just enjoy the experience of receiving a holiday gift picked out with their wishes in mind, like a basket of fresh fruit.  For many, this will be the only gift they receive.

Your support can brighten the holidays for Chicago elders.

  • Your donation of $25 or $50 will be pooled with other donations to purchase “big ticket” gifts such as a lift-assisted recliner or a bed for an elder who is sleeping on a sofa.
  • Your donation of $110 can sponsor a Christmas Day table of ten elders, or sponsor ten home delivered meals.
  • Secure gifts can be made online at or by calling 312.455.1000.

Gifts are tax-deductible as allowed by law and will bring the joy of the holiday season to a population which is sometimes forgotten.
