PILATES
The Pilates method is much more than a series of 500 controlled, smooth, fluid exercises that blend strength, balance, coordination and flexibility into movement. Pilates-based exercises enable you to develop muscle strength and endurance in supported positions using light to moderate spring resistance without activating the pain cycle that can result when the muscle is fatigued. The exercises are taught at a slow to moderate pace, focusing on form that is essential for muscular reeducation. We at Rapid Rehab focus on individual attention to make sure that form is emphasized at your pace. Regardless of your level of fitness, Pilates can be beneficial to you. Whether you are just starting an exercise program or are a well-trained athlete, Pilates can provide a challenging workout customized to your individual needs. Working the body and mind as an integrated whole enables you to create the most balanced body imaginable. Just after a few weeks, the way you look, move, feel, and carry yourself will amaze you.

Pilates can be done either on a mat or on a special apparatus called a Reformer, which enhances the exercise method. Other equipment used includes the Trapeze Table, Wunda Chair, Ladder Barrel, and a host of many other smaller toys used to help strengthen various muscles.
